Privacy Policy for Miraro

Last Updated: December 31, 2024

This Privacy Policy describes how Miraro ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Miraro - Mirroring the Moments application (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

As described in our help section within the app, Miraro helps you manage your private photos and videos. Specifically, we are asking for permission to read and access your device's photos and videos in order to:

  • Access your media: Miraro needs access to your device's photo library so you can select and manage your photos and videos within the app. You grant the app explicit permission to access them, and the app does not access these files without permission.

  • Store your selected media securely: Once you add photos and videos to the app, it creates its own secure, isolated storage to keep your media safe.

  • Usage Data: When you use the app, we use Firebase Analytics to collect information about how you interact with it, such as the features you use, how often you use the app, and any actions you take in-app. This is anonymized data and does not directly identify you.

  • Crash Reports: We also utilize Firebase Crashlytics, which may collect error logs when the app crashes or experiences errors. These logs may contain data related to the crash, but we don't use it to identify an individual user.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the app's functionality: To allow you to view, manage, and store your private photos and videos. This includes adding, viewing, and deleting photos/videos, as well as providing the selective search and hidden mode features described in the app.
  • App Improvement: We analyze anonymized usage data with Firebase Analytics to understand how our app is being used. This helps us improve the user experience, fix bugs, and enhance existing features.
  • Debugging & Maintenance: Crash reports collected through Firebase Crashlytics are used to fix issues, troubleshoot errors, and generally help keep the app stable.

3. Information Sharing

We do not share your personal photo or video data with third parties. Any media stored in the app is stored solely on your device.

  • Firebase Services: Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are managed by Google. Data collected by these services is subject to Google's privacy policies.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law.

4. Data Retention

  • Image data: Your photo and video data is stored locally on your device by the app. We don't store it elsewhere unless you explicitly choose to back it up via your own method (like your device's cloud backup service).
  • Usage and crash data: Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention policies.

5. Your Choices

  • Permissions: You can control the app's access to your photos and videos through your device settings. You may revoke those permissions, but the app may not function as intended without the necessary permissions.
  • Analytics: We use anonymized data from Firebase Analytics. You can read Firebase’s policy for details of how they manage data and how you may opt out.

6. Security

We take data security seriously. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information in the app and on our servers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, thus we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The app is not intended for children under the age of 12. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy here and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Please check this page periodically for updates.
